WARDOGS continues to exceed expectations following its Early Access launch, with Bulkhead’s new first-person shooter surpassing 400,000 concurrent players on Steam after selling 1.25 million copies within its first day.

The shooter launched into Steam Early Access on September 10 and quickly climbed the platform’s charts. According to SteamDB data, RATNI PSI has now reached a peak of 400,196 concurrent players.

That’s another significant jump for a game that had already attracted nearly a quarter of a million active players during testing.

WARDOGS Reviews Recover After Difficult Launch Day

The impressive player numbers come alongside a major improvement in the game’s Steam reception.

WARDOGS initially received a wave of negative reviews following technical and stability problems on launch day. However, sentiment quickly changed as Bulkhead responded to problems and communicated directly with its growing community.

According to SteamDB, September 11 passed without a single negative Steam review being recorded. Negative reviews began appearing again on September 12, but positive reviews continued to significantly outweigh them.

Bulkhead’s frequent communication with players has also received considerable praise, with the studio openly discussing issues and its plans for improving the game throughout Early Access.

Bulkhead Has a Huge Early Access Hit

WARDOGS reportedly sold 1.25 million copies within its first 24 hours, and its continued growth suggests that figure has already increased considerably.

The studio has previously made it clear that Early Access will last for at least a year as it continues developing the game toward its full 1.0 release.

Console players will have a much longer wait. Bulkhead has confirmed that WARDOGS won’t arrive on consoles before 2028 at the earliest.

For now, however, its Steam launch has given Bulkhead an enormous audience to build upon, with more than 400,000 concurrent players marking another major milestone just days into Early Access.
