GTA 6 has its first officially confirmed voice actor, with veteran actor Stephen Root revealing that he will appear in Rockstar Games’ highly anticipated open-world title.

Rockstar still hasn’t revealed the actors behind protagonists Jason and Lucia, but Root has now publicly confirmed his involvement in the game.

Stephen Root Confirms GTA 6 Role

Speaking to AP at the BAFTA Tea Party, Root confirmed that players will see him in GTA 6 and suggested fans had already recognized his distinctive voice.

“Yeah, you’re going to see me in there. Since the first rollout about a year ago, they had my character in there, and there are too many people who knew me from King of the Hill and my voice, so I think that secret was kind of divulged then.”

Root, whose extensive acting career includes roles in King of the Hill, Finding Nemo and numerous film and television productions, also praised his experience working on the game.

“I’m so happy to be involved in it, it’s an amazing thing to look at.”

Is Stephen Root Playing Brian Heder?

Root didn’t reveal the name of his GTA 6 character, but his comments line up with existing fan speculation surrounding Brian Heder, a retired smuggler who employs Jason.

Brian appeared during the recent GTA 6 Extended Look, including a scene where he meets Jason and Lucia at a rooftop party.

For now, Root’s exact character remains unconfirmed, making the Brian Heder connection speculation rather than official casting information.
