Konami’s Silent Hill franchise could be heading back to the big screen, with a new movie reportedly in development and veteran horror producer Roy Lee attached to the project.

The most interesting detail is the involvement of Roy Lee, a prolific Hollywood producer with extensive experience in horror.

Resident Evil Producer Reportedly Attached to Silent Hill

Lee’s credits include The Ring, The Strangers, Quarantine, It, Until Dawn, Weapons i The Long Walk, among numerous other productions.

More recently, Lee produced the new Resident Evil movie directed by Zach Cregger, making his reported involvement with another major survival horror franchise particularly notable.

Details about the new Silent Hill project remain extremely limited. There is currently no confirmed director, cast, release date or information about whether the movie will adapt an existing game or tell an original story.

The report arrives shortly after Return to Silent Hill, the latest movie based on Konami’s franchise. That adaptation was based on Silent Hill 2 and reportedly earned around $47 million worldwide from a $23 million production budget, while receiving a largely negative critical and fan response.

Konami Has Bigger Plans for Silent Hill

Another movie would fit into Konami’s broader revival of the franchise.

After Silent Hill remained largely dormant for more than a decade, the publisher has significantly increased its investment in the series, with new games and remakes now arriving regularly.

A new Silent Hill movie produced by Roy Lee hasn’t been formally announced by Konami, so the project should still be treated as reported rather than confirmed.

If the report proves accurate, however, Silent Hill appears set to remain active well beyond video games.
