Blizzard Entertainment is officially bringing Diablo to Netflix, with the two companies announcing a new partnership that will begin with an animated adaptation of the legendary action RPG franchise.

Blizzard president Johanna Faries revealed the collaboration during the opening of BlizzCon 2026, although no footage, release date or major story details were announced.

Diablo Is Getting a Netflix Animated Series

The Diablo animated series will be the first project produced through the new Blizzard and Netflix partnership.

For now, Blizzard is keeping most details under wraps, including which period of Diablo’s history the series will explore, its characters and when it will arrive.

However, Faries made it clear that Diablo is only the beginning.

She teased that the partnership could eventually extend to other major Blizzard franchises, specifically mentioning the Overwatch and Warcraft communities.

“I begged and pleaded to be able to share more, but I can’t spill the beans just yet. I promise, as soon as we can, we will share more details with you.”

No additional adaptations have been officially announced yet.

Blizzard Is Expanding Diablo Beyond Games

The announcement comes during a major period for the Diablo franchise as Blizzard celebrates its 30th anniversary.

Diablo 4 is preparing to introduce Diablo himself alongside Mephisto and Baal in Season 15, while Blizzard also recently announced Diablo 5 for Spring 2029.

The Netflix animated series now gives the franchise another major project outside gaming, although fans will have to wait for further details about its story, cast and release window.
