Marvel’s Wolverine Platinum Requires Plenty of Exploration
Several trophies confirm that anyone chasing the Platinum will need to spend a considerable amount of time exploring rather than sticking exclusively to the main story. Three major collectible-related Silver trophies stand out.
Crate Collector requires you to find every Material Crate, while Full Barrel asks you to collect all Whisky Bottles. Pathways of the Mind, meanwhile, requires every Nightmare Door to be discovered.
Nightmare Doors appear to be particularly important optional activities. Finding your first one in the open world unlocks Waking Nightmare, while achieving an Adamantium rating on a Nightmare Trial rewards Adamantium Dreams.
The Gold Repressed Memories trophy takes this even further by requiring players to unlock the hidden memory within the Nightmare Trials.
Wolverine’s Bosses Are Revealed by the Trophy List
The trophy list also gives away several major encounters.
Logan will face Omega Red, Deathstrike, Sabretooth, Essex and a Sentinel Prototype, with each encounter tied to a Silver trophy. There are also more specific objectives connected to certain encounters.
During the Sabretooth boss fight, for example, Harmer’s Market requires players to destroy every vendor stall. Saturn Slam asks you to drop Saturn onto The Hand during the Japan portion of the game, suggesting some trophies will require players to interact with specific pieces of the environment rather than simply defeat enemies.
These are exactly the kinds of trophies worth watching carefully during a first playthrough, particularly until we know whether individual encounters can easily be replayed.
Combat Trophies Could Take Some Time
A significant portion of the list focuses on mastering Logan’s combat abilities.
Parry Perfected is one of the biggest grinds on paper, requiring a total of 500 parries.
You’ll also need to score 100 kills using Helix Claws for Cut Just As Deep and another 75 kills with Tornado Spin for Spiral Cut. Other combat trophies are more situational.
Ground Control requires three enemies to be pushed out of a plane, while Shish Kebab asks you to impale an enemy on an environmental hazard. Blindsided also confirms that Jean will directly participate in some gameplay encounters, as you’ll need to perform 10 stealth kills on enemies blinded by Jean.
You’ll Need to Upgrade Wolverine for the Platinum
Progression is another major component of the trophy list.
Ultimate Predator requires Logan to reach Player Level 36, while the Gold Secondary Mutations trophy requires Adaptation Level 10. Suit crafting is tied directly into progression as well.
Crafting your first suit immediately unlocks Suit Up, but Adamantium Armory requires enough suits to be crafted to fully upgrade Wolverine’s health.
That suggests players interested in the Platinum won’t be able to ignore the game’s crafting and exploration systems, as Material Crates will presumably play an important role in acquiring the resources needed for suits.
Marvel’s Wolverine Has Some Very Insomniac Trophies
Not everything is about ripping enemies apart with adamantium claws.
Insomniac has included several much stranger environmental trophies that should reward players for poking around the world.
That’s Cheating requires Logan to free stuffed animals from claw machines.
Then there’s Poseidon’s Kiss, which asks players to activate the “kissing toilet” inside a Tokyo bar bathroom. Greased requires finding and reading Callisto’s journal in her Vancouver garage, while Recycled involves defeating a Reaver using molten metal.
These smaller challenges should provide some entertaining distractions between the game’s larger story and combat objectives.
Is the Marvel’s Wolverine Platinum Difficult?
Based solely on the trophy requirements, Marvel’s Wolverine doesn’t immediately appear to have an exceptionally difficult Platinum.
The biggest requirements appear to involve collecting everything, reaching the necessary progression levels and completing specific combat challenges.
There are no difficulty-related trophies listed, and nothing in the trophy descriptions explicitly requires finishing the entire game on a particular difficulty setting.
However, we won’t know the true Platinum difficulty or approximate completion time until the game is available and requirements such as Nightmare Trials, collectibles and missable encounter-specific trophies can be properly tested.
For now, trophy hunters should pay particular attention to situational trophies such as Ground Control, Harmer’s Market, Saturn Slam and Blindsided, as their descriptions suggest they may be tied to specific sequences or encounters.
Marvel’s Wolverine launches exclusively for PlayStation 5 on September 15, 2026, with 42 trophies available to unlock.
