Resident Evil continues to be a massive seller for Capcom, with six games in the franchise reportedly selling more than three million copies each between July 2025 and June 2026.

Leading the older releases was Resident Evil 4 Remake, which reportedly sold more than five million copies during the 12-month period alone, despite originally launching in 2023.

Resident Evil’s Older Games Are Still Selling Millions

The report highlights particularly strong performance from Capcom‘s modern remakes.

Resident Evil 2 Remake and Resident Evil 3 Remake each sold around four million additional copies, while Resident Evil Village added another 3.6 million.

Even Resident Evil 7 Biohazard, originally released years earlier, managed another three million sales during the same period.

Resident Evil 6 also continues to find new players. Its PS4 and Xbox One versions reportedly combined for more than 500,000 copies between July 2025 and June 2026.

At the lower end, the Nintendo Switch versions of Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 6, alongside Resident Evil Revelations, each reportedly sold fewer than 300,000 copies during the measured period.

The figures underline the unusual longevity of Capcom’s horror franchise, with remakes and older entries continuing to generate substantial sales long after their original launches.

Capcom isn’t slowing down either. A Resident Evil: Code Veronica remake is currently in development and expected within the company’s next fiscal year, giving the publisher another opportunity to continue the strong performance of its Resident Evil remake strategy.
