SAW: Genesis has delayed its Early Access launch to Q1 2027, with the development team saying it needs additional time to improve performance and respond to feedback from recent testing.
The multiplayer horror game was previously expected to enter Early Access during the final quarter of 2026, but the developers announced the delay through the game’s official social media channels.
According to the team, recent testing and player feedback highlighted several areas that could be improved before release.
SAW: Genesis Developers Want More Time for Polish
The developers said their goal is not only to create a game worthy of the SAW franchise, but also one that succeeds as a multiplayer horror experience on its own.
“Today we’ve made the decision to move the SAW: Genesis Early Access release to Q1 2027.”
The team explained that recent testing generated plenty of positive feedback alongside specific suggestions for improving parts of the game and its performance.
“We know the wait will be longer than expected, but we believe SAW: Genesis will be better for it.”
SAW: Genesis is an asymmetrical 3v1 horror game, with one player taking the role of the Judge while three others play as the Accused.
The Accused must complete challenges, collect keys and find a way to escape before time runs out, bringing the deadly game structure of the SAW movies into a multiplayer format.
A specific Early Access release date hasn't been announced, with SAW: Genesis now targeting Q1 2027.
