Sony Interactive Entertainment<\/a> has reportedly still not decided when the next generation of PlayStation<\/a> hardware will launch, with rising RAM and component prices continuing to create uncertainty around the future of the rumored PlayStation 6<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The comments come from a recent Q&A session following Sony\u2019s latest financial earnings report, where the company also revealed that the PlayStation 5<\/a> is approaching 100 million lifetime sales<\/strong> and confirmed a massive $765 million loss related to Bungie<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sony Still Unsure About PS6 Timing and Price<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

During the investor session, Sony President and CEO Hiroki Totoki discussed the growing cost of memory components and how global supply issues continue to impact long-term planning for future hardware.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Totoki, Sony has already secured the materials needed for the remainder of the current fiscal year, but concerns begin in fiscal year 2027 due to expected shortages and extremely high memory prices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
