Sony Interactive Entertainment<\/a> has officially announced that it will stop producing physical discs for all new Sony PlayStation<\/a> games beginning in January 2028<\/strong>, marking one of the biggest shifts in PlayStation history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The transition to a digital-only format emphasizes the growing importance of digital distribution for the Sony PlayStation ecosystem. From that point forward, newly released PlayStation titles will only be available digitally through the PlayStation Store<\/strong> and participating retailers that sell digital game codes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
