Sony Santa Monica<\/a> has confirmed that the next God of War game starring Kratos will directly continue the events of God of War: Laufey<\/strong>, establishing the upcoming title as an essential chapter in the franchise’s future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The announcement was made during San Diego Comic-Con 2026<\/strong>, where Cory Barlog<\/strong>, creative director at Santa Monica Studio, revealed that the stories of Laufey<\/strong> and Kratos<\/strong> are closely connected and designed to flow into one another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kratos Returns After Laufey<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

While God of War: Laufey<\/strong> will put Kratos’ wife, Faye (Laufey)<\/strong>, in the spotlight, fans won’t have to wait long before the Ghost of Sparta returns as the series’ main protagonist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Barlog, the next Kratos-led installment is planned to release after God of War: Laufey<\/strong>, with both games forming parts of a larger narrative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rather than serving as a standalone spin-off, Laufey’s adventure will lay the groundwork for the next main chapter of the God of War saga.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
