Capcom<\/a> has revealed a major new trailer for Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, showcasing its post-game story, new monsters<\/a>, the Skybound Eyrie location and fresh gameplay mechanics ahead of the expansion’s 2027 release.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The latest look at Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance<\/strong> arrived during PlayStation<\/a>’s September State of Play, although Capcom stopped short of announcing a specific release date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Instead, the expansion remains scheduled for 2027<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ascendance Takes Place Years After Monster Hunter Wilds<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Ascendance takes place after the events of the base game and features a significant time skip<\/strong>, with familiar characters and locations changing as several years pass.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The arrival of the Elder Dragon Lao-Shan Lung<\/strong> causes massive devastation, forcing the Expedition to prepare for its eventual return.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Those preparations ultimately lead to the construction of the Madoi Stronghold<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the mist created by the dragon’s arrival begins to disappear, players will also discover Skybound Eyrie<\/strong>, a new location situated above the clouds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New Elder Dragons and Gundoraja Revealed<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The changing world brings new ecological disturbances, expanded Guardian monster habitats and the emergence of additional Elder Dragons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the newcomers is Gundoraja<\/strong>, a completely new monster capable of manipulating storms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lao-Shan Lung will naturally play a major role in the expansion as well, with its arrival serving as the catalyst for Ascendance’s story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Boost Bracer Expands Combat<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Hunters will gain access to a new piece of equipment called the Boost Bracer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Bracer temporarily enhances the hunter’s abilities while amplifying the individual characteristics and strengths of all 14 weapon types<\/strong>, adding another layer to combat and character builds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Capcom has also released a Monster Hunter Wilds prologue demo<\/strong> for players interested in trying the game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To access Ascendance, existing players will need to complete the Awakening From a Dream<\/strong> quest and reach Hunter Rank 40<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
