Gears of War: E-Day could become one of the first games to use Xbox’s upcoming equivalent to PlayStation<\/a>’s Platinum Trophy, following the reveal of its complete Achievement list<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Xbox <\/a>has already confirmed that a new Platinum-style Achievement system is planned for later in 2026. Now, one unusual Achievement in E-Day suggests Microsoft’s major October release could be designed with the feature in mind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gears of War: E-Day Has a Zero-Gamerscore Completion Achievement<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The official Achievement list includes one called The Lucky Ones Died on E-Day<\/strong>, which is unlocked by earning every other Achievement in the game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interestingly, completing it awards zero Gamerscore<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That structure closely resembles PlayStation’s Platinum Trophy, which serves as a separate reward for completing the rest of a game’s Trophy list rather than contributing additional points toward completion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, Xbox hasn’t confirmed that this particular Achievement is officially connected to its upcoming Platinum-style system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Completion Achievements aren’t entirely new to Xbox either, with several games already offering rewards for unlocking everything else. It’s also unknown whether Microsoft’s new system will retroactively recognize similar Achievements from older games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Still, the timing and structure of The Lucky Ones Died on E-Day<\/strong> make E-Day an obvious candidate to showcase Microsoft’s new approach to completion rewards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
