Promising new multiplayer FPS Wardogs has launched in Steam Early Access, but console players will have a long wait ahead, with developer Bulkhead confirming the game won’t arrive on consoles before 2028.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wardogs<\/a> has already attracted significant attention on PC, drawing nearly 250,000 players during testing<\/strong> before its Early Access debut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wardogs Will Spend at Least a Year in Early Access<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Developer Bulkhead plans to keep Wardogs in Steam Early Access for at least a year, using feedback from the community to improve and expand the game before moving toward other platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Studio head Joe Brammer acknowledged that Wardogs is still in a rough state and that plenty of development work remains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWardogs is an ambitious title and in a rough state, we still have a lot of work to do, but that’s exactly why Early Access exists.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Bulkhead wants to use the Early Access period to build Wardogs into a multiplayer shooter capable of maintaining a long-term community rather than rushing its development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That approach also means console versions aren’t planned before 2028<\/strong>, although specific platforms and an exact console release date haven’t been confirmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wardogs Is Already Huge on Steam<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The initial response on Steam has been impressive. Shortly after its Early Access launch, Wardogs reportedly reached around 225,000 concurrent players<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At that moment, its concurrent player count was reportedly higher than Battlefield 6, Call of Duty and Delta Force combined<\/strong>, giving Bulkhead an extremely strong starting point for its Early Access journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For now, however, Wardogs remains a PC experience. Console<\/a> players interested in Bulkhead’s new multiplayer FPS shouldn’t expect to join the fight until 2028 at the earliest<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
