SEGA<\/a> is bringing two new physical Sonic collections to Nintendo Switch on October 20, 2026, splitting six previously released games between Classic and Modern bundles.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both collections are priced at $49.99 each<\/strong> and were originally announced as part of Sonic the Hedgehog’s 35th anniversary celebrations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Classic Sonic Collection Includes Mania, Superstars and Origins<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Classic Sonic Collection<\/strong> brings together three Switch releases:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Sonic Mania<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Sonic Superstars<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Sonic Origins<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Sonic Origins is itself a collection, meaning the package also provides access to remastered versions of Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic CD<\/strong> i Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Despite its name, the Classic Collection therefore isn’t simply a bundle of original Sonic releases, instead combining modern games inspired by the franchise’s traditional 2D style.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Modern Sonic Collection Includes Sonic Frontiers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    The Modern Sonic Collection<\/strong> focuses on three more recent 3D Sonic adventures:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Sonic Colors Ultimate<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Sonic Forces<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Sonic Frontiers<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Both collections are being released specifically for the original Nintendo Switch<\/strong>, rather than as native Switch 2 releases, although they will also be playable on Nintendo’s newer console.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      The collections don’t contain newly announced remasters or remakes, instead offering convenient physical bundles of existing Sonic games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
