Reacher star Alan Ritchson is reportedly in talks to join Sony Pictures’ upcoming live-action Helldivers movie, potentially replacing Jason Momoa in the project.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to a new Deadline report<\/a>, Sony Pictures and Ritchson are currently discussing a deal that would see the actor play one of the Helldivers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The casting is not yet finalized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alan Ritchson Could Replace Jason Momoa<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Jason Momoa was previously attached to the Helldivers<\/a> adaptation but has since departed the project. Director Justin Lin<\/strong>, best known for his work on the Fast & Furious franchise, remains attached.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If negotiations are successful, Ritchson would step into a role as one of the Helldivers, with additional casting announcements expected as production moves forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ritchson is best known for playing Jack Reacher in Prime Video’s Reacher<\/strong>, while his recent film credits include Fast X, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, War Machine and Runner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Helldivers Movie Arrives in 2027<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Sony originally announced the live-action Helldivers adaptation during CES 2025 as part of its continued expansion of PlayStation<\/a> franchises into film and television.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Plot details remain under wraps, so it is currently unclear how closely the movie will follow the games or which characters and conflicts will appear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
