Brad Pitt is officially returning for a new World War Z sequel, with Paramount moving forward on another movie more than a decade after the original zombie blockbuster.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Deadline<\/a>, a deal has been reached for Pitt to reprise his role, while Edward Berger<\/strong> is set to direct and Dennis Kelly<\/strong> will write the screenplay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

World War Z Sequel Finally Moving Forward<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A sequel to 2013’s World War Z has been discussed for years, with Pitt repeatedly attached to potential versions of the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One previous attempt would have reunited Pitt with longtime collaborator David Fincher<\/strong>, but that version ultimately failed to move forward amid budget concerns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The newly announced project represents another attempt by Paramount to continue the franchise, this time with Berger behind the camera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It remains unclear whether the movie will officially be titled World War Z 2<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
