Minecraft may be 17 years old, but Xbox CEO Asha Sharma says more than 300,000 people are still playing the game for the first time every single day.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sharma revealed the impressive figure in a social media post reflecting on the latest Minecraft LIVE<\/strong> event, highlighting just how much Microsoft’s biggest gaming franchise continues to grow despite its age.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Sharma, Minecraft has also now surpassed 425 million copies sold worldwide<\/strong> since its original release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More Than 300,000 People Try Minecraft Every Day<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

An average of more than 300,000 first-time players per day<\/strong> would translate to well over 100 million new players encountering Minecraft over the course of a year if that pace were maintained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Part of Minecraft’s continued reach comes from its availability across an enormous number of platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The game can currently be played across PC, Mac, Linux, Chromebook, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch systems, Nintendo Switch 2 and mobile devices including iOS and Android.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mojang has also continued expanding Minecraft beyond the original game through spin-offs, with Minecraft Dungeons 2 scheduled to launch on September 29<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The franchise has grown beyond gaming as well. Following the success of its first live-action adaptation, a second Minecraft movie featuring Jack Black and Jason Momoa<\/strong> is currently in development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
