The Witcher 3 Remastered launches on September 29, 2026, and CD Projekt Red has confirmed the upgrade will require a roughly 45GB download on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rather than releasing as a separate game, The Witcher 3 Remastered will arrive as an update to the existing Complete Edition<\/strong>, meaning current owners won’t need to download or purchase a standalone version.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CD Projekt Red<\/a>‘s Marcin Momot confirmed<\/a> the approximate download sizes ahead of launch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The update will require approximately 45GB on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC<\/strong>, while the Nintendo Switch 2 version is slightly larger at around 50GB<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CD Projekt Red has also confirmed the exact global release times for Tuesday, September 29<\/strong>, allowing players to see when the Remastered update becomes available in their region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because the remaster replaces the existing Complete Edition rather than creating a separate application, existing save files will remain compatible<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PS5 players also won’t receive a new Trophy list with the Remastered update. Existing Trophy progress will remain intact, meaning players won’t be able to earn a second Platinum by installing the remaster.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The update arrives ahead of another major addition to The Witcher 3<\/a>, with the Songs of the Past expansion scheduled for 2027<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
