HBO’s The Last of Us Season 3 has added John Goodman, Laura Bailey and Ian Alexander to its cast, while Naughty Dog is also preparing new announcements for The Last of Us Day.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Deadline<\/a>, Goodman and Alexander will play new characters named Joey and Paco<\/strong>, described as \u201cHeroes of the Highway.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bailey will portray Elizabeth<\/strong>, a leader of the Seraphites, the religious group featured prominently in The Last of Us Part II.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Last of Us Game Actors Return in New Roles<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The casting is particularly notable because both Laura Bailey and Ian Alexander<\/strong> previously appeared in The Last of Us Dayja <\/a>Part II.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bailey originally portrayed Abby in the game, while Alexander played Lev. Neither will reprise those characters in HBO’s adaptation, where Kaitlyn Dever plays Abby and Kyriana Kratter portrays Lev<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Season 3 is expected to shift much of its focus toward Abby’s perspective as HBO continues adapting the events of The Last of Us Part II.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, Naughty Dog is preparing its delayed The Last of Us Day celebrations for Monday, September 28.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The studio will host a charity stream on its official Twitch channel<\/a> and has teased a \u201cpartnership announcement, a very cool collaboration, digital surprises, and more.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Naughty Dog hasn’t revealed exactly what those announcements will involve, so there is currently no indication that new game content will be part of the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
