Microsoft has officially introduced Mythic Achievements, a new Xbox completion system that rewards players for earning every original achievement in a game, with the feature now rolling out to Xbox Insiders.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Starting September 29, the feature is rolling out first to Xbox Insiders<\/strong>, giving players an early look at one of Xbox<\/a>‘s most requested achievement features.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Mythic Achievement<\/strong> is awarded when you unlock all of a game’s original achievements. Importantly, achievements added later through DLC or post-launch updates are not required<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once Mythic status has been earned, players will also keep it permanently, even if additional achievements are added later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your Old Xbox Completions Can Already Be Mythic<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Microsoft has made the system retroactive, meaning eligible games you’ve already completed can automatically receive Mythic status.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This includes Xbox 360 games<\/strong>, so longtime achievement hunters may already have a collection of Mythic completions waiting for them when the feature reaches their profile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mythic games are highlighted with a special heroic frame<\/strong> in achievement history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Xbox profiles are also getting a new Gaming tab<\/strong>, bringing together achievements, completed games and progress toward the next Gamerscore milestone badge. Players can visit their friends’ Gaming tabs as well to see which games they’ve taken to Mythic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Xbox Makes Completion Tracking Easier<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Games that haven’t yet reached Mythic status now display a progress bar showing how close players are to completing the required original achievement list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Players can filter the list to focus specifically on achievements still required for Mythic, while achievements introduced later are clearly marked as \u201cadd-on.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similar progress information will also appear throughout the Xbox interface, including the Guide and individual Achievement details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For now, Mythic Achievements are available to Xbox Insiders<\/strong>, with Microsoft gathering feedback before the feature receives a wider rollout.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
