Naughty Dog may have another major single-player game in development beyond Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, with insider NateTheHate <\/a>claiming Shaun Escay’s project is not connected to The Last of Us.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Naughty Dog <\/a>confirmed back in December 2023<\/strong> that it was working on more than one ambitious single-player game. One of those projects was eventually revealed as Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet<\/strong>, while the identity of the other has remained unknown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to insider NateTheHate<\/strong>, that mystery project is still separate from The Last of Us and is being directed by Shaun Escay<\/strong>, who has reportedly been leading development for roughly four years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Naughty Dog Could Have Four Projects in Development<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The distinction has become particularly interesting following Neil Druckmann’s latest update on the future of The Last of Us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During The Last of Us Day, Druckmann confirmed that Naughty Dog currently has two projects set in The Last of Us universe in very early development<\/strong>, both of which will expand the canon beyond Part I and Part II.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, NateTheHate claims Escay’s game is not related to The Last of Us<\/strong>, meaning it would be separate from both of those newly confirmed projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If the information is accurate, Naughty Dog’s known development slate would therefore include Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, Shaun Escay’s unannounced single-player game and two early-stage The Last of Us projects<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It remains unclear what form those two Last of Us projects will take, while virtually nothing is known about Escay’s game beyond the claim that it is unrelated to the franchise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
