Sony could be preparing to revive Ape Escape as part of its plans to bring back dormant PlayStation<\/a> franchises, according to insider NateTheHate. However, Team Asobi apparently isn’t developing the rumored project.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The speculation started after NateTheHate responded to a discussion about recent hints surrounding a possible Ape Escape return.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“As I said a while ago, Sony<\/a> is looking to bring back some dormant franchises,” Nate said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While this isn’t direct confirmation that a new Ape Escape is in development, his follow-up comments provided additional details about the project being discussed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Team Asobi Isn’t Behind the Rumored Project<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

When asked whether Team Asobi could be developing the game, Nate simply responded:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Not Asobi.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also said Bandai Namco<\/a> isn’t involved based on the information he previously received, although he noted that he would need to check again to be completely certain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Bamco is not involved, to my knowledge. But I’d have to check further to be 100% certain, as it has been a while since I last checked in on the project.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The reference to “the project”<\/strong> is particularly notable, although Nate hasn’t explicitly confirmed what form a potential Ape Escape revival could take.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sony hasn’t announced a new Ape Escape game, remake or remaster, so the information should currently be treated strictly as a rumor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
