Liquid Swords, the studio behind Samson: A Tyndalston Story, has officially confirmed its closure despite the game’s console version performing significantly better than its PC release.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Swedish developer Liquid Swords<\/strong> is shutting down just one month after launching Samson: A Tyndalston Story on PlayStation<\/a> 5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Studio founder Christofer Sundberg<\/strong>, previously known for his work on the Just Cause franchise, confirmed the news in a social media statement<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLiquid Swords is closing. Samson did far better on consoles, but it wasn\u2019t enough to save the studio,\u201d Sundberg explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The open-world crime game received mixed reviews at launch, with criticism focusing on technical problems, repetitive gameplay and overall polish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Liquid Swords subsequently released several updates in an attempt to improve the experience before its console debut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Sundberg, console sales significantly outperformed PC sales<\/strong>, but the stronger reception was not enough to secure the studio’s future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No specific sales figures have been disclosed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Samson Could Still Receive Future Support<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Before the official closure announcement, Swedish publication Breakit<\/a> reported that Liquid Swords had entered bankruptcy proceedings following financial difficulties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The report also indicated that approximately 30 employees were affected<\/strong>, with unpaid wages contributing to the studio’s problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite the closure, Sundberg suggested that Samson might not be completely abandoned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
