Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis Gets a New Trailer and a February 2027 Release Date

Crystal Dynamics has officially revealed a brand-new trailer for Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, finally confirming when Lara Croft’s next adventure will arrive.

Following months of rumors and speculation, the game is now scheduled to launch on February 12, 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

While some fans may be disappointed by the wait, the latest trailer offers the most detailed look yet at what is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious Tomb Raider projects in years.

A Return to Lara Croft’s Origins

Legacy of Atlantis isn’t simply another sequel.

Crystal Dynamics describes the game as a complete reimagining of the original Tomb Raider adventure that introduced Lara Croft to players back in the 1990s. Built using Unreal Engine 5, the project aims to modernize the iconic story while preserving the spirit of the game that started the franchise.

The new trailer showcases ancient ruins, massive environmental set pieces, dangerous creatures, and several glimpses of Atlantis itself, hinting at a much larger scale than previous entries in the series.

And honestly?

It looks exactly like the kind of globe-trotting archaeological adventure many fans have been asking for since the reboot trilogy ended.

The Delay Means Missing Lara’s 30th Anniversary

One interesting detail is that Legacy of Atlantis was originally expected to launch during Lara Croft’s 30th anniversary celebrations.

With the release now locked in for February 2027, that timing has officially slipped away.

Still, if the extra development time helps Crystal Dynamics deliver the definitive modern Tomb Raider experience, most players will probably consider the delay worthwhile.

New Lara Croft Actress Takes Over

Legacy of Atlantis will also introduce a new voice behind Lara Croft.

Alix Wilton Regan has officially taken over the role, replacing Camilla Luddington, who portrayed Lara throughout the Survivor trilogy that began with the 2013 reboot.

The change marks the beginning of a new era for the franchise, both in terms of storytelling and character portrayal.

Early Access and Multiple Editions Confirmed

Crystal Dynamics also confirmed that players will be able to choose between three different editions of the game.

Those who pre-order selected versions will receive 48 hours of early access, along with the exclusive Survivor Outfit, inspired by Lara’s appearance in the 2013 Tomb Raider reboot.

More details regarding the various editions and their contents are expected to arrive in the coming months.

One of 2027’s Biggest Releases

With a release date finally locked in, Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis immediately becomes one of the most anticipated games of early 2027.

Between its Unreal Engine 5 visuals, reimagined origin story, and the promise of exploring the legendary city of Atlantis, Crystal Dynamics appears to be positioning this as a major new chapter for Lara Croft.

And after seeing the latest trailer, it’s easy to understand why so many Tomb Raider fans are already counting down the days until February.
