OverHyped Gamer is an independent gaming publication covering video games through news, reviews, guides, features, gameplay content and other editorial coverage.
Our goal is to provide readers with accurate, useful and transparent gaming content while maintaining editorial independence regardless of how access to a game, product or event was obtained.
Editorial Independence
Editorial opinions published by OverHyped Gamer are our own.
Publishers, developers, PR agencies, sponsors and other third parties do not receive editorial control over reviews, scores, opinions or conclusions unless content is explicitly identified as sponsored or otherwise created as part of a commercial collaboration.
Receiving a review copy, early access, invitation to an event or other benefit does not guarantee positive coverage or a particular review score.
Review Copies and Early Access
OverHyped Gamer may receive games, DLC, hardware, software or other products free of charge from publishers, developers, PR agencies or other representatives for review or coverage purposes.
We may also receive access to games before their public release, participate in preview sessions, attend presentations or events, or receive access to embargoed information.
When relevant, such circumstances will be disclosed within the article, review, video or associated content.
Providing complimentary access does not constitute payment for a positive opinion.
Reviews and Scores
Reviews represent the opinion of the individual author based on their experience with the version of the game or product available during the review period.
Where appropriate, reviews may take into consideration factors including gameplay, performance, presentation, accessibility, content, technical condition and overall experience.
Games and services may change substantially after publication through patches, updates, expansions or other modifications. A review generally reflects the product as experienced at the time the review was conducted.
OverHyped Gamer may update an article to correct factual errors or provide important additional information.
Embargoes and Confidentiality
OverHyped Gamer respects legitimate embargoes and confidentiality agreements associated with preview events, review access and other pre-release opportunities.
Agreeing to an embargo determines when information may be published. It does not give the publisher, developer or PR representative control over our editorial opinion.

We aim to distinguish confirmed information from rumors, reports, speculation and personal opinion.
When reporting information originating from another publication, creator, company or other external source, OverHyped Gamer aims to identify or link to the original or relevant source where reasonably possible.
Official announcements and statements may be referenced when reporting information provided directly by publishers, developers, platform holders and other organisations.
Guides and Gameplay Content
Guides, walkthroughs, trophy and achievement guides and similar instructional content are created to help players complete specific objectives or better understand games.
Whenever reasonably possible, such content is based on first-hand gameplay and testing.
Games may be updated after publication, meaning certain steps, mechanics, locations or requirements described in older guides may change.
Corrections and Updates
We aim to publish accurate information.
If we identify a significant factual error, we may correct or update the affected content. Articles may also be updated when additional verified information becomes available.
Minor spelling, formatting and grammatical corrections may be made without a separate correction notice.
Artificial Intelligence
OverHyped Gamer may use software and AI-assisted tools as part of its production workflow, including for research assistance, language editing, transcription, formatting, image preparation or other supporting tasks.
Editorial responsibility for published content remains with OverHyped Gamer.
AI-assisted tools do not replace our responsibility to review the accuracy, context and quality of material published under the OverHyped Gamer name.
