Nintendo Switch 2 Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition Launches in October

Nintendo has officially revealed the Nintendo Switch 2 – The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition, a special version of its latest console launching on October 29, 2026.

The limited-edition hardware celebrates four decades of The Legend of Zelda and arrives just one week before The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake launches on November 5.

Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2 Launches October 29

The special Nintendo Switch 2 features a design inspired by The Legend of Zelda and comes in commemorative packaging decorated with embossed foil details.

Nintendo says the first production run featuring this special packaging will be available in limited quantities while supplies last, potentially making it particularly attractive to collectors.

The console launches worldwide on October 29, alongside several matching accessories.

Nintendo Is Also Launching Zelda-Themed Accessories

Nintendo will release a Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller – The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition on the same day.

A matching Nintendo Switch 2 Carrying Case and Screen Protector set will also be available for players wanting to complete the Zelda-themed setup.

Collectors will have another option in the form of a Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller with Display Stand. This version includes a dedicated display stand and will be sold exclusively through the official Nintendo Store and Nintendo’s flagship locations in New York and San Francisco.

The hardware arrives during a major celebration for the franchise, with Nintendo marking Zelda’s 40th anniversary throughout 2026.
