The Blood of Dawnwalker Hotfix 1.0.4 Fixes Quest Blockers, Saving Issues and More

Rebel Wolves is rolling out Hotfix 1.0.4 for The Blood of Dawnwalker across PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, addressing several progression blockers, crashes and a particularly serious issue that could prevent players from saving their game.

The update also fixes problems affecting several quests, improves overall stability and tackles a Steam-specific controller issue that could cause significant FPS drops.

The Blood of Dawnwalker Hotfix 1.0.4 Highlights

One of the most important changes addresses an issue that could completely prevent players from saving. Rebel Wolves has also fixed multiple situations where Coen could become trapped or quests could no longer progress.

Several individual quests have received fixes, including Deep Down, Hive and Seek, On the Run, Smoke and Ashes, A Lone Wolf’s Hunt and The Heart Wants What It Wants.

The On the Run fix is particularly notable, as progressing through the quest could previously result in an infinite loading screen.

Other gameplay improvements include:

  • Tutorial progression will no longer become blocked when using Voracious Bite too quickly.
  • Coen should no longer become permanently trapped inside certain houses.
  • Blocking will no longer become disabled under certain circumstances.
  • Dead NPCs can no longer initiate conversations.
  • Crake can speak to Coen during his training sequence.
  • Murohn should now spawn correctly.
  • A soft-lock encountered after following Sara has been fixed.
  • Ocha will no longer attack Coen after being attacked by guards.

Steam FPS Drops and Other Bugs Fixed

Steam players using controllers with outdated GameInput software should no longer experience the associated FPS drops.

The update also fixes VSync problems when using FSR Frame Generation on PC, while Quality preset mods should now apply correctly.

There are a few more amusing fixes buried among the serious ones. Torches can no longer grow uncontrollably, while Rebel Wolves has also removed a red pipe asset that, according to the developer, wasn’t supposed to be used in the first place.

Music playback problems during the prologue have also been addressed.

The Blood of Dawnwalker Hotfix 1.0.4 is rolling out now on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
