The Rogue Prince of Persia is celebrating its first anniversary with a major free update adding new game modes, combat zones, daily challenges, weapons, companions and additional gameplay mechanics.

Ubisoft announced the update on September 17, expanding the roguelite with several features designed to increase replayability and give experienced players more difficult challenges to tackle.

New Speed Run, Parkour and Combat Modes

One of the biggest additions is a dedicated Speed Run mode, complete with built-in timers that allow players to test and optimize their movement through the game.

A new Parkour mode places a greater emphasis on wall running, routing and agility, while new Combat Zones challenge players with increasingly difficult waves of enemies.

The update also introduces mechanics that allow players to freeze and slow enemies, opening additional possibilities during combat.

Daily Awakening and Nyamtur Trials

The new Daily Awakening system offers rotating daily runs with different modifiers and requirements, encouraging players to regularly adapt their strategies.

More experienced players can take on Nyamtur Trials, high-risk challenges scattered throughout the game’s biomes that offer legendary loot as rewards.

Additional high-difficulty puzzles and combat rooms have also been introduced to further test players who have already mastered the core mechanics.

New Weapons and Animal Companions

The anniversary update expands the Prince’s arsenal with a slingshot and new trap tool, while animal companions can now provide additional support during both exploration and combat.

Combined with the new modes, challenges and combat mechanics, the free anniversary update represents a substantial expansion of The Rogue Prince of Persia’s existing content one year after its launch.
