CONTROL Resonant Launch Hotfix Forces PC Players to Re-Download the Game

Remedy has released the first major CONTROL Resonant launch hotfix, reducing enemy health and improving Dylan’s combat strength, but PC players will need to re-download the game due to an unexpected platform issue.

The update is available as version 01.300.300 on PS5, 1.3.3.0 on Xbox Series X|S and 1.3.3 on PC.

According to Remedy, the hotfix unexpectedly triggered “certain platform mechanisms on PC,” resulting in players having to download the game again.

CONTROL Resonant Makes Enemies Less Tanky

The official patch notes address one of the main complaints surrounding the game’s early hours: enemies having too much health.

Remedy has reduced the base health and Falter requirements for most enemies, as well as the Dancer and Deserter bosses. Maximum Aberrant Strength and Ability Strength have also been increased, with larger damage improvements appearing as players progress further through their upgrades.

Remedy says the changes should improve combat flow while maintaining the intended challenge.

The update also makes respeccing cheaper, increases the number of Reset Items available from vendors and changes the first Resonant boss, The Artist, to drop two Reset Items instead of one.

Assist Mode Offers More Difficulty Control

Players who want additional control can use CONTROL Resonant’s existing Assist Mode, which includes sliders for enemy aggression, incoming damage, ability recovery and other gameplay elements.

Several English UI descriptions have also been updated to better explain Aberrant Strength and Build Power, with localized versions coming later.

Remedy says it will continue monitoring feedback and make additional adjustments where necessary.

PC players will need to re-download the game before they can try the updated combat balance.
