GTA 6 Pre-Orders Reportedly Surpass $630 Million With 6.45 Million Copies Sold

Grand Theft Auto 6 has reportedly generated more than $630 million in pre-order revenue, with approximately 6.45 million copies sold ahead of its November 19, 2026 release.

Rockstar Games‘ highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6 is approaching launch with potentially record-breaking sales figures.

According to data published by analytics firm Sensor Tower, GTA 6 has reportedly reached 6.45 million pre-orders, generating approximately $630 million in revenue before release.

If accurate, the figures would represent an extraordinary commercial start for Rockstar’s next open-world blockbuster.

GTA 6 Pre-Order Sales: PS5 vs. Xbox

Sensor Tower’s reported figures show PlayStation 5 accounting for the majority of pre-orders.

PlatformPre-OrdersRevenue
PlayStation 54.8 million$468 million
Xbox Series X|S1.66 million$162 million
Total6.45 million$630 million

Approximately 74% of GTA 6 pre-orders reportedly come from PlayStation 5, compared to 26% on Xbox Series X|S.

The significant difference reflects PlayStation‘s larger console install base.

These figures are third-party estimates and have not been officially confirmed by Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive.

GTA 6 Could Generate Billions During Launch Week

The reported pre-order figures may represent only the beginning of GTA 6’s commercial performance.

Analytics firm Newzoo estimates that the game could generate up to $5.2 billion during its launch week, although this remains a projection rather than guaranteed revenue.

Meanwhile, GTA 6 pre-loading is reportedly scheduled to begin on November 12, one week before release.

Additional purchases are expected as players prepare for launch.

Grand Theft Auto 6 launches November 19, 2026, on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

With reported pre-orders already exceeding $600 million, GTA 6 could be heading toward one of the biggest launches in entertainment history.
