FX’s upcoming Far Cry TV series has added five major names to its cast, with Brendan Gleeson, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Hamish Linklater, Sam Spruell and Jamie Demetriou officially joining the adaptation.
Ubisoft confirmed the new additions through the official Far Cry X account, teasing the announcement with: “That’s a suspicious amount of talent in one place.”
The newly announced cast members are:
- Brendan Gleeson
- Jennifer Jason Leigh
- Hamish Linklater
- Sam Spruell
- Jamie Demetriou
Details about their characters have not yet been revealed.
Far Cry Continues to Build Its TV Cast
The five additions significantly expand the ensemble for FX’s adaptation of Ubisoft’s long-running open-world franchise.
Rather than confirming which existing Far Cry characters they might portray, Ubisoft’s announcement simply revealed the actors involved, leaving their roles and how they fit into the series under wraps for now.
The Far Cry franchise has built much of its identity around memorable villains, morally complicated characters and isolated settings, giving the television adaptation plenty of material to work with.
With Gleeson, Leigh, Linklater, Spruell and Demetriou now joining the project, the cast is quickly becoming one of the biggest reasons to keep an eye on FX’s Far Cry series.
