4A Games has officially announced that Metro 2039 will launch on February 4, 2027, for PS5, Xbox and PC, alongside the first look at the post-apocalyptic shooter’s console gameplay.

The release date was revealed during the latest PlayStation State of Play, where Metro 2039 received a new trailer filled with combat, exploration and another look at its dark post-apocalyptic world.

Metro 2039 Launches February 4, 2027

The new trailer provided the first substantial look at Metro 2039 running on consoles, showcasing intense gunfights, atmospheric environments and new story details before ending with the February release date.

The timing also puts Metro 2039 remarkably close to the eighth anniversary of Metro Exodus, which originally launched in February 2019.

4A Games has positioned the new entry as an especially dark chapter for the series, building upon the survival, exploration and first-person combat that defined its predecessors.

Metro 2039 Approaches Two Million Wishlists

Interest in the sequel is already significant.

Metro 2039 has accumulated almost two million wishlists worldwide, helped by its recent appearances and playable demonstrations at Gamescom.

With its release date now locked in, players have only a few more months to wait before returning to Metro’s post-apocalyptic world.
