Tripwire Interactive has officially revealed Maneater 2 during the September PlayStation State of Play, bringing its chaotic shark RPG back for another round of destruction in 2027.

Six years after the original Maneater launched, the sequel will take players to Neptune’s Kingdom, an ultra-luxury seaside theme park filled with artificial biodiversity and plenty of potential shark food.

Maneater 2 Takes You to Neptune’s Kingdom

The sequel retains the original game’s unusual ShaRkPG formula, allowing players to eat, explore and evolve their shark while causing chaos throughout the environment.

This time, the objective involves escaping an invite-only preview event at Neptune’s Kingdom – although judging by the announcement trailer, the park has much bigger problems once your shark arrives.

Advances in bioengineering have filled Neptune’s Kingdom with artificial biodiversity, providing new opportunities to evolve and unlock upgrades capable of dealing with increasingly dangerous threats.

Orcas, Piranhas and a Giant Crab

The first trailer makes it clear that Maneater 2 isn’t dialing back the absurdity.

Footage shows the shark battling orcas and piranhas, launching through areas of the theme park, terrifying visitors and even confronting an enormous crab.

The evolution and upgrade systems will return as players become increasingly powerful while exploring the park and dealing with its unusual wildlife.

Maneater 2 launches in 2027. A specific release date has not yet been announced.
