Naughty Dog isn’t finished with The Last of Us, with studio head Neil Druckmann confirming that multiple new projects set within the franchise are currently in development.
The future of The Last of Us has remained uncertain following the cancellation of Naughty Dog’s ambitious multiplayer game, while the studio has increasingly shifted attention toward its new IP, Intergalaktički: Jeretički prorok.
However, Druckmann has now made it clear that The Last of Us remains an important part of Naughty Dog’s future.

Multiple The Last of Us Projects Are in Development
Speaking in a recent interview with The Washington Post, Druckmann confirmed that Naughty Dog is currently working on multiple projects within The Last of Us universe.
He stopped short of revealing exactly what those projects are, suggesting Naughty Dog will share more information when the studio is ready.
That means there is still no official confirmation that The Last of Us Part III is one of those projects.
Is The Last of Us Part III One of Them?
A third mainline game remains the obvious possibility, but Naughty Dog hasn’t officially announced it.
Previous comments from Joel actor Troy Baker have also fueled speculation about what another Last of Us game could look like, including suggestions that it might not be what fans expect.
The projects could potentially include a direct continuation of Ellie’s story, new characters or something entirely different within the franchise’s post-apocalyptic world. For now, those possibilities remain speculation.
What is now clear is that Naughty Dog has multiple The Last of Us projects in development, meaning the studio’s biggest franchise still has plenty of life left in it.

Whoop whoop. That’s probably my second or third, or maybe my 4th favorite franchise, lol
