Insomniac Games is reportedly still developing its long-rumored standalone Venom game, despite previous speculation that the Marvel project had been canceled.

The latest update comes from industry insider NateTheHate, who claims the Venom game remains in development at Insomniac. Neither Sony nor Insomniac has officially announced the project, meaning its current status should still be treated as unconfirmed.

Venom Game Reportedly Hasn’t Been Canceled

Rumors surrounding a standalone Venom game have circulated for years, particularly following the character’s major role in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

More recently, uncertainty surrounding the project increased after comments from Miles Morales voice actor Nadji Jeter suggested that it was no longer happening.

NateTheHate is now pushing back against those reports, claiming that Insomniac’s Venom project remains in development.

Exactly what form the game will take, when it could launch, or where it fits into Insomniac’s wider Marvel universe remains unknown.

Insomniac Is Currently Focused on Marvel’s Wolverine

Insomniac’s immediate priority is Wolverine iz Marvela, which launches exclusively for PS5 on September 15, 2026.

The studio also has plans for another Spider-Man game, making Venom another potential piece of its growing collection of interconnected Marvel projects.

For now, however, the most important distinction is that Venom has still not been officially announced. NateTheHate’s report suggests the project is alive, but confirmation will ultimately have to come from Insomniac or PlayStation.
