Nintendo has officially announced that The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake will launch on November 5, 2026, revealing the date during its special Zelda 40th Anniversary Nintendo Direct.

Previously scheduled only for a broad 2026 release window, the remake also received an extended gameplay overview showcasing how Nintendo is modernizing one of its most celebrated games while retaining the structure of the original.

Ocarina of Time Remake Launches November 5

Unlike Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, the Ocarina of Time Remake won’t transform the classic adventure into an open-world game.

Instead, it remains faithful to the original structure while introducing several modern gameplay improvements. These include a freely rotating camera, additional dialogue and controlled jumping, replacing the original game’s automatic jumping system.

Nintendo is also retaining brief loading transitions between certain areas, helping preserve the structure and feel of the original adventure.

Classic Zelda With Modern Gameplay Improvements

The remake will once again feature Navi as Link’s fairy companion, with an expanded role that includes providing combat tips and other useful advice throughout the adventure.

Originally released for Nintendo 64 in 1998, Ocarina of Time became one of the defining entries in The Legend of Zelda series and remains one of Nintendo’s most celebrated games.

With the release date now locked in, fans won’t have much longer to wait for Link’s return to this version of Hyrule.
