Ubisoft games are beginning to appear in Xbox’s new Disc-to-Digital program, just a day after players noticed that the publisher’s titles weren’t supported by the feature.

Microsoft‘s Disc-to-Digital system is currently being tested through the Xbox Insider program, allowing supported physical games to receive a digital entitlement while preserving ownership of the original disc.

Ubisoft Games Are Starting to Work With Disc-to-Digital

Players have now reported that several Ubisoft titles previously listed as unsupported are becoming compatible with the program.

The change comes roughly 18 hours after reports highlighted Ubisoft’s absence, although there was never any indication that the publisher had permanently opted out of Microsoft’s initiative.

Windows Central’s Jez Corden also reports that, according to his sources, additional publishers are expected to join the program in the future.

The feature remains in testing, meaning the current list of supported games and publishers isn’t necessarily representative of what will be available when Microsoft expands it to more Xbox users.

More Publishers Could Join Later

At the time of writing, games from several major publishers, including Bandai Namco, SEGA and Square Enix, remain unsupported.

That could change as the program develops. Adding physical games isn’t necessarily immediate, as publishers may need to resolve licensing agreements and other requirements before individual titles can receive digital entitlements.

Microsoft’s Disc-to-Digital program is designed to bridge Xbox’s physical and digital ecosystems, potentially allowing owners of supported discs to benefit from digital features such as Xbox Play Anywhere.

With Ubisoft titles now beginning to appear, the list of supported Xbox physical games looks set to continue growing as testing progresses.
