Marvel’s Wolverine has delivered Sony’s biggest launch month in the United States since Helldivers 2 in February 2024, according to new sales data from Circana.
Insomniac Games‘ latest PlayStation 5 exclusive has achieved an impressive commercial debut, topping September 2026 sales charts and becoming one of the year’s best-selling games.
According to Circana analyst Mat Piscatella, Marvel’s Wolverine generated the highest full-game dollar sales of any title in the United States during September.
The superhero adventure also entered the top 15 best-selling games of 2026, reaching 11th place in the US year-to-date rankings.
Marvel’s Wolverine Delivers Sony’s Biggest Launch in Over Two Years
Circana reports that Marvel’s Wolverine achieved the strongest launch-month dollar sales for a Sony-published game since Helldivers 2 launched in February 2024.
This makes it PlayStation’s biggest first-month release in more than two years by US dollar sales.
However, Sony has not announced official worldwide sales figures, and the Circana rankings measure revenue rather than the number of copies sold.
The results nevertheless highlight strong demand for Insomniac Games’ latest Marvel adventure.
Marvel’s Wolverine Tops September PS5 Download Charts
PlayStation Store data also confirms the game’s strong digital performance.
Marvel’s Wolverine finished September as:
- #1 in North America on the PS5 download chart.
- #2 in Europe, behind EA Sports FC 27.
- #1 in US full-game dollar sales, according to Circana.
- #11 among the best-selling US games of 2026 through September.
Other major September releases included The Blood of Dawnwalker, Halloween and Onimusha: Way of the Sword.
Wolverine DualSense Controller Also Leads Accessory Sales
The game’s success extended beyond software sales.
According to Circana, the Marvel’s Wolverine Limited Edition DualSense controller was September’s best-selling gaming accessory in the United States, ranking first in both unit sales and dollar revenue.
This suggests strong interest in the wider Wolverine product lineup alongside the PS5 exclusive.
With a successful debut across both software and accessories, Marvel’s Wolverine has become one of PlayStation’s standout releases of 2026.
Sony has yet to disclose official worldwide sales totals, but the latest US market data confirms a strong commercial start for Insomniac Games’ superhero adventure.
