Meccha Chameleon is officially coming to Nintendo Switch 2, with the viral multiplayer hide-and-seek game launching later today following its surprise Nintendo Direct announcement.
The Switch 2 release marks the game’s first announced console version after becoming a massive success on Steam. Versions for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S have not been announced.
Meccha Chameleon Shadow Drops on Switch 2
Meccha Chameleon has become one of 2026’s biggest surprise hits, reportedly selling 10 million copies during its first month before surpassing 20 million sales.
Its concept revolves around two teams: hiders and seekers.
Hiders can use a paint system to camouflage their bodies against the environment, with better color matching making them increasingly difficult to spot. Seekers must carefully inspect their surroundings and identify disguised players before time runs out.
The game supports online multiplayer and private matches with 2–10 players, allowing groups of friends to create their own servers or join online lobbies.
Following its enormous success on PC, Nintendo Switch 2 players won’t have long to wait for the console version.
