FromSoftware has officially delayed The Duskbloods, its upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive, from 2026 to 2027, giving developers additional time to refine gameplay mechanics and multiplayer balancing.
The announcement follows an August network test that provided valuable feedback on the game’s combat, player expression and strategic depth.
Although development has reached its final adjustment stage, the studio has decided that further improvements are necessary before launch.

The Duskbloods Delayed Following August Network Test
According to FromSoftware, the network test demonstrated strong player interest in the game’s core concepts.
However, the development team identified opportunities to further enhance the multiplayer experience, particularly its gameplay rules and overall balance.
The additional development time will allow the studio to make these final adjustments rather than release the game before those improvements are complete.
The Duskbloods is now scheduled for 2027, although FromSoftware has not announced a specific release date or launch window.
The game remains exclusive to Nintendo Switch 2 and represents a multiplayer-focused project from the studio behind Elden Ring, Dark Souls and Bloodborne.
While the delay may disappoint fans, FromSoftware’s explanation suggests that the additional development time is primarily focused on refining the experience following player testing.
