The Witcher 3 Remastered launches on September 29, 2026, and CD Projekt Red has confirmed the upgrade will require a roughly 45GB download on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

Rather than releasing as a separate game, The Witcher 3 Remastered will arrive as an update to the existing Complete Edition, meaning current owners won’t need to download or purchase a standalone version.

CD Projekt Red‘s Marcin Momot confirmed the approximate download sizes ahead of launch.

The update will require approximately 45GB on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, while the Nintendo Switch 2 version is slightly larger at around 50GB.

CD Projekt Red has also confirmed the exact global release times for Tuesday, September 29, allowing players to see when the Remastered update becomes available in their region.

Because the remaster replaces the existing Complete Edition rather than creating a separate application, existing save files will remain compatible.

PS5 players also won’t receive a new Trophy list with the Remastered update. Existing Trophy progress will remain intact, meaning players won’t be able to earn a second Platinum by installing the remaster.

The update arrives ahead of another major addition to The Witcher 3, with the Songs of the Past expansion scheduled for 2027.
