Stellar Blade 2 and Project Spirits New Details Expected in 2026

Shift Up has officially revealed that players can expect brand-new information regarding both Stellar Blade 2 and the mysterious Project Spirits sometime in 2026.

The announcement comes through the company’s latest financial results, where the Korean developer outlined its long-term plans for future PC and console projects following the massive success of Stellar Blade.

Shift Up Preparing Major Expansion Beyond Stellar Blade

Over the past year, Shift Up has continued expanding aggressively, including the recent acquisition of Unbound, a studio featuring developers who previously worked on the Resident Evil franchise.

According to the company, several new PC and console projects are now in development through this partnership, with upcoming titles expected to become “first-party service” games under Shift Up’s publishing structure.

However, the biggest attention naturally remains on Stellar Blade 2 and the mysterious Project Spirits.

What Is Project Spirits?

At the moment, very little is officially known about Project Spirits.

Shift Up previously confirmed that the game is being developed in Unreal Engine 5 and is planned as a cross-platform title targeting PC, consoles, and mobile devices.

Publishing duties for the project will reportedly be handled by Tencent’s Level Infinite, following a newly announced partnership agreement.

Beyond that, Shift Up has remained extremely secretive about the game’s world, gameplay systems, or setting.

Stellar Blade 2 Still Deep in Development

The situation is similar for Stellar Blade 2, although previous teasers have hinted that the sequel may shift its setting toward a post-apocalyptic version of China.

Shift Up previously stated that the sequel would not be properly revealed until it reaches a “satisfactory quality level,” but also acknowledged that players can now begin building expectations for the project moving forward.

Considering the original Stellar Blade became one of PlayStation’s biggest action hits in recent years, anticipation for the sequel is already extremely high.

More Platforms for Stellar Blade?

Interestingly, Shift Up also hinted that the original Stellar Blade could potentially arrive on additional platforms in the future.

While no official announcements have been made yet, speculation surrounding a possible PC version has continued growing for months, especially after the game’s strong global success on PlayStation 5.

With 2026 now shaping up to be a major year for Shift Up, fans may not have to wait much longer before finally learning what Project Spirits truly is — and what the future holds for Stellar Blade.
