Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Campaign Early Access Dates Revealed

Activision has officially confirmed that players won’t have to wait until launch day to jump into Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4’s highly anticipated campaign.

Following the game’s recent reveal, the publisher has now detailed its early access plans, giving fans an opportunity to experience the story a full week before the global launch.

Modern Warfare 4 Campaign Early Access Starts October 16

According to a new post on the official Call of Duty Blog, players who digitally pre-order either the Standard Edition or Vault Edition of Modern Warfare 4 will gain access to the game’s campaign beginning on October 16, 2026.

The offer applies across all supported platforms, including:

  • PlayStation 5
  • XBOX Series X|S
  • PC via Steam
  • PC via Battle.net
  • Nintendo Switch 2

Activision also confirmed that Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders will become available later this year.

The full game launches worldwide on October 23, 2026, meaning campaign players will receive seven days of early access before multiplayer servers officially go live.

A Return To The Series’ Roots

Modern Warfare 4’s campaign promises a more grounded military story compared to some of the franchise’s recent entries.

Players will step into the boots of Private Park, a young South Korean soldier experiencing the horrors of combat for the very first time. What begins as a routine deployment quickly spirals into a full-scale conflict after North Korea launches a devastating invasion.

The story will also feature the return of fan-favorite Captain Price, though not in the role players may expect.

Now operating outside official military channels, Price finds himself pursuing a powerful weapon while seeking revenge. However, his personal mission soon triggers consequences that threaten to escalate into a much larger international conflict.

Large Battles And Cinematic Missions Return

According to Activision, the campaign will feature a mixture of large-scale warfare, covert operations, vehicle combat, and cinematic action sequences that have traditionally defined the Modern Warfare series.

The developers describe the experience as delivering “grounded combat and gameplay variety across a war that spreads far beyond the front lines.”

While only limited footage has been shown so far, early previews suggest Infinity Ward is aiming for a campaign that blends classic Call of Duty storytelling with modern visuals and larger battlefields.

More Modern Warfare 4 Details Are Coming Soon

The campaign isn’t the only aspect generating buzz within the Call of Duty community.

Recently, the newly revealed Kill Block multiplayer map has attracted significant attention thanks to its unique layout and fresh approach to map design. Meanwhile, Activision has also reassured fans that Modern Warfare 4 will avoid the more over-the-top cosmetic direction seen in some recent entries, focusing instead on a more authentic military aesthetic.

With campaign early access now officially confirmed and the October release date rapidly approaching, players won’t have to wait much longer to see whether Modern Warfare 4 can deliver one of the strongest Call of Duty campaigns in years.
