New Game Plus Confirmed for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced

Ubisoft has officially confirmed that New Game Plus is in development for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, giving players another reason to return to Edward Kenway’s pirate adventure after completing the main story.

Since launching on July 9, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced has enjoyed a hugely successful release, reportedly selling more than 2 million copies on its first day. Alongside its visual overhaul, gameplay improvements, and additional content, the remake is now set to receive one of the community’s most requested features.

New Game Plus Is One of Ubisoft’s Highest Priorities

The news comes from an interview with YouTuber JorRaptor, where game director Richard Knight confirmed that the development team is actively working on implementing New Game Plus.

While Knight avoided sharing a release window, he made it clear that the feature is already a major focus for the team.

According to him, New Game Plus is considered a relatively safe addition because Ubisoft has already developed a similar system for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, allowing the developers to build upon existing technology instead of starting from scratch.

Although work is still underway, Knight emphasized that New Game Plus felt like a natural addition for Black Flag Resynced and has quickly become one of the studio’s top priorities.

What Could New Game Plus Include?

Ubisoft hasn’t revealed how New Game Plus will function, but players can likely expect many of the features commonly associated with the mode, including:

  • Keeping Edward’s weapons, outfits, and upgrades.
  • Starting a fresh playthrough while retaining progression.
  • Facing tougher enemies or adjusted balancing.
  • An additional challenge for players aiming for full completion.

Whether every collectible, Jackdaw upgrade, and cosmetic item will carry over remains unknown, but more details are expected closer to launch.

No Release Date Yet

Unfortunately, Ubisoft isn’t ready to announce when New Game Plus will arrive.

Richard Knight explained that development is still in progress, making it too early to commit to a launch date. However, his comments strongly suggest the feature is being prioritized and could become one of the first major post-launch updates for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced.
