One of the most requested changes to Xbox Achievements could finally be happening, with Xbox CEO Asha Sharma teasing a new completionist-focused feature planned for later in 2026.
For years, Xbox players have been able to build their Gamerscore by unlocking Achievements, but the system has always lacked one major feature found on PlayStation: a special reward for earning absolutely everything a game has to offer.
That could finally be about to change.

Xbox Is Working on Something for Completionists
Xbox recently revealed several features heading to Xbox Insiders, including improvements to Achievement tracking and browsing alongside voice chat support for game captures.
Following the announcement, a player asked Sharma when Xbox would finally introduce something comparable to PlayStation’s Platinum Trophy.
Her response immediately caught the attention of Achievement hunters, with the Xbox CEO confirming that the team is working on something planned for later this year.
Sharma stopped short of confirming exactly what the feature will be, so an Xbox “Platinum Achievement” isn’t technically official yet. However, the context of her response strongly suggests Microsoft is preparing a new reward for fully completing games.
Xbox Has Never Had a True Platinum Trophy Equivalent
PlayStation’s Trophy system awards players a Platinum Trophy after they unlock all required base-game trophies.
It’s a simple feature, but it gives completionists a definitive milestone for finishing a game’s Trophy list.
Xbox instead relies primarily on Gamerscore, with most standard games offering a base total of 1,000G before DLC and post-launch Achievements are added.
You can earn every Achievement in a game, but there isn’t a universal Xbox equivalent of the Platinum Trophy that permanently distinguishes that accomplishment.
For dedicated Achievement hunters, that difference has been noticeable for years.
What Could Xbox’s New Achievement Reward Look Like?
Microsoft hasn’t revealed how the new system will actually work.
One possibility would be a dedicated 100% Achievement automatically awarded when players complete a game’s base Achievement list.
Another option could be a special badge attached to completed games, allowing players to showcase their 100% completions without changing the existing Gamerscore system.
Xbox could also introduce an entirely new Achievement tier specifically designed for completed games.
Whatever Microsoft chooses, the feature could significantly improve the appeal of Achievement hunting by giving players a recognizable collection of fully completed games.

Xbox Has Already Started Improving Achievements
The tease doesn’t come out of nowhere.
Microsoft has introduced several updates to the Achievement experience throughout 2026, including refreshed visuals, interface changes, and better tools for tracking progress.
A dedicated completion reward would represent a much bigger change, potentially becoming the most significant expansion of Xbox Achievements in years.
It would also bring Xbox closer to PlayStation’s Trophy system without abandoning the Gamerscore system that has existed since the Xbox 360 era.
Could Xbox Platinum Achievements Arrive in 2026?
For now, Microsoft has not officially confirmed a Platinum-style Achievement system, and Sharma’s comments leave plenty of room for speculation.
What we do know is that Xbox is developing something related to the request and is targeting later in 2026.
If it really is Xbox’s answer to the Platinum Trophy, Achievement hunters could finally have something they’ve been requesting for nearly two decades: a dedicated reward for achieving 100% completion.
