Samson: A Tyndalston Story is officially coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on September 21, 2026, bringing its open-world action and brutal melee combat to consoles just two months before GTA 6 arrives.
The game originally launched on PC earlier this year and received a mixed reception, but several updates and improvements have followed since release. Now, the console versions finally have a confirmed launch date.
Samson Launches on PS5 and Xbox September 21
Samson: A Tyndalston Story combines open-world exploration, close-quarters combat and vehicle chases within a crime-focused story about repaying a debt.
The project comes from Liquid Swords, the studio founded by Just Cause creator Christofer Sundberg, and takes a more grounded approach to open-world action than the explosive Just Cause series.
The PC version currently costs around €25, although an official price for the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions has not yet been confirmed.
An Open-World Crime Game Before GTA 6
Samson obviously isn’t competing with GTA 6 in terms of scale, but its console timing is interesting.
The game arrives on September 21, while Grand Theft Auto 6 launches November 19, 2026, giving players looking for an open-world crime game something to play during the final wait for Rockstar’s blockbuster.
