Killzone could finally be making a comeback, with a new report claiming that Guerrilla Games is working with an external studio on either a remake or remaster of one of PlayStation’s most recognizable shooter franchises.
The series has been dormant since Killzone: Shadow Fall launched alongside the PS4 in 2013, after which Guerrilla shifted its attention toward Horizon.
According to a new report from MP1st, however, a Killzone project is now in the very early stages of production.

Killzone Remake or Remaster Reportedly in Development
The report cites people familiar with the project who claim Guerrilla is collaborating with an external developer on a new version of an existing Killzone game.
It’s currently unclear whether the project is a full remake or a remaster, and the specific Killzone title being revisited hasn’t been identified.
The original Killzone, released for PS2 in 2004, would be an obvious candidate, but there is currently no confirmation that it is the game being worked on.
Could People Can Fly Be Developing Killzone?
One possibility raised by the report is People Can Fly, although its involvement has not been confirmed.
In March 2025, People Can Fly entered an agreement with PlayStation to co-develop a project based on an existing PlayStation IP. The studio also has extensive experience with shooters through games including Bulletstorm, Gears of War: Judgment and Outriders.
Whether that mysterious PlayStation project is actually Killzone remains unknown.
For now, the reported Killzone revival should be treated strictly as a rumor. Neither Guerrilla Games nor PlayStation has officially announced a remake, remaster or new entry in the series.
Still, after more than a decade without a new Killzone release, even the possibility of the franchise returning will be welcome news for longtime PlayStation FPS fans.

Uf really hope my favorite franchise comes back!
