A newly discovered Epic Games Store listing has sparked speculation that Final Fantasy 7: Revelation could receive post-launch story DLC.
Although Final Fantasy 7: Revelation was unveiled as the concluding chapter of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy during Summer Game Fest, the latest store listing suggests Square Enix may already be preparing additional content beyond the main campaign.
Story Expansion Pass Appears in Epic Games Store Listing
As first spotted by IGN, an updated Epic Games Store listing for Final Fantasy 7: Revelation contains several unannounced downloadable content entries.
Among the listings are:
- Story Expansion Pass
- DLC Packs 1–9
- Pre-Order Bonus
- Premium Edition Content
- Digital Contents Pack
- Additional unrevealed downloadable items
The most notable entry is the Final Fantasy 7: Revelation Story Expansion Pass, which strongly hints that Square Enix may have plans for post-launch story content.
At the time of writing, however, no official announcement has been made, and the listing could simply represent placeholder content prepared ahead of launch.

Director Previously Left the Door Open
The discovery aligns with previous comments from Final Fantasy 7 Remake series director Naoki Hamaguchi, who has already discussed the possibility of expanding the game’s story after release.
According to Hamaguchi, whether the team develops additional story content will largely depend on continued player support for both Final Fantasy 7: Revelation and the franchise as a whole.
He previously explained that if fans continue showing strong interest, Square Enix is:
“Open to exploring those possibilities proactively.”
Those remarks suggested the development team has considered post-launch expansions, even if no concrete plans have been publicly confirmed.

Nothing Official Yet
While the Story Expansion Pass listing has understandably generated excitement among fans, it’s important to remember that storefront metadata often includes placeholder items long before publishers formally reveal DLC plans.
Until Square Enix confirms the expansion, players should treat the listing as an indication that additional content may be planned rather than proof that it is actively in development.
With Final Fantasy 7: Revelation serving as the finale of the remake trilogy, many fans will undoubtedly be hoping the story doesn’t end there if the game’s success justifies further expansions.
