The final announcement of this year’s Summer Game Fest turned out to be exactly what many fans had been hoping for.
After years of speculation, teases, and anticipation, Square Enix officially unveiled Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3: Revelation, the concluding chapter of the ambitious remake trilogy.
It was a spectacular way to close the show.
Cloud’s Journey Nears Its End
The newly released reveal trailer finally gives fans their first look at the final chapter of Cloud Strife’s story.
The footage showcases several familiar faces, including Sephiroth, alongside a variety of new enemies and massive encounters awaiting Cloud and his allies.
While Square Enix continues to keep major story details under wraps, it’s clear that Revelation is building toward the dramatic conclusion fans have been waiting years to experience.
Simultaneous Multi-Platform Launch Confirmed
Perhaps the biggest surprise wasn’t the game itself, but its launch strategy.
Unlike previous entries in the trilogy, Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 will launch simultaneously across all major platforms.
Players on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC will all be able to experience the final chapter together when the game releases in Spring 2027.
It’s a major shift for the franchise and one that many fans have been requesting for years.

The Biggest World in the Trilogy
Square Enix didn’t stop with a single trailer.
Additional footage revealed more details about exploration, including the return of the iconic Highwind airship.
Players will be able to traverse what developers describe as the largest open world created across the entire remake project.
Based on what was shown, Revelation appears set to significantly expand the scale introduced in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, giving players even greater freedom to explore the world than ever before.
Combat Refined Across Three Games
The development team also highlighted further improvements to the remake trilogy’s acclaimed combat system.
Building upon the foundations established in Final Fantasy VII Remake and refined in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Revelation will feature an evolved hybrid combat system that combines real-time action with strategic party management.
Players will once again be able to switch seamlessly between party members during combat while taking advantage of unique abilities, spells, and devastating team attacks.
And honestly?
The gameplay shown during the showcase looks smoother and more fluid than ever.
The End of a Long Journey
The reveal marks a major milestone for both Square Enix and Final Fantasy fans.
Since the launch of Final Fantasy VII Remake in 2020, players have spent years following Cloud, Tifa, Aerith, Barret, and the rest of Avalanche through this reimagined version of one of gaming’s most beloved stories.
Now, with Revelation officially announced, the finish line is finally in sight.
Of course, plenty of questions remain unanswered.
Square Enix has yet to reveal deeper gameplay systems, potential endgame content, or whether additional expansions could follow after launch.
But after years of waiting, fans finally know when the trilogy’s final chapter is arriving.
One of 2027’s Biggest Games
It’s still early, but Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3: Revelation already looks poised to become one of the biggest releases of 2027.
Between its massive world, refined combat, simultaneous multi-platform launch, and the promise of concluding one of gaming’s most iconic stories, expectations couldn’t be much higher.
And judging by the reaction during Summer Game Fest, fans are more than ready to return to Midgar’s world one last time.
