Xbox Game Pass Is Testing Dynamic Pricing With Different Discounts for Select Users

Microsoft appears to be testing personalized Xbox Game Pass pricing, with different users reporting discounted Game Pass Ultimate subscription offers based on their accounts.

Rather than changing the standard Game Pass price, the apparent test offers selected players a lower monthly rate for their first 12 months before returning them to the regular subscription price.

Xbox Game Pass Users Are Seeing Different Prices

The reports surfaced after a Reddit user in the United States revealed an offer for Game Pass Ultimate at $16.09 per month for 12 months, after which the subscription would return to its regular $22.99 monthly price.

Other users reported receiving different offers, including approximately $18 and $20 per month, suggesting Microsoft may be experimenting with personalized discounts rather than offering one universal promotion.

The original user said they had subscribed to Game Pass intermittently for almost two years and had been unsubscribed for roughly a month before receiving the offer.

Microsoft Could Be Testing Personalized Game Pass Discounts

There has been no official announcement from Microsoft confirming a broader dynamic pricing program, so it’s currently unclear how users are selected or what factors determine the discounts.

Those receiving the offer still get the regular Game Pass Ultimate benefits, with only the introductory subscription price changing.

The reports arrive as Microsoft prepares other significant changes to Game Pass, including new monthly Xbox Cloud Gaming limits beginning in November 2026.

For now, the personalized pricing appears limited to select users, and there is no indication that Microsoft’s standard Game Pass Ultimate price is being permanently reduced.
